چکیده
In this paper, the performance of the Z-MAP algorithmis explored in the context of the turbo equalization of thefaster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signals. The complexity of the Z-MAP,in terms of the number of the surviving states at each time epoch,is studied. Finally, the performance of the Z-MAP is comparedto that of the backup M-BCJR for turbo equalizing the FTNsignals.

Novel Low-Complexity Graph-Based Turbo Equalization for Single-Carrier and Multi-Carrier FTN Signaling
We propose a novel turbo detection scheme based on the factor graph serial-schedule belief propagation equalization algorithm with low complexity for single-carrier faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) and multicarrier FTN signaling. In this work, the additive white Gaussian noise channel and multi-path fading channels are both considered. The iterative factor graph-based equalization algorithm can deal w...

In this paper, we analyzed efficient decoding scheme with faster than Nyquist (FTN) signaling that is transmission method faster than Nyquist theory and increase the throughput. We proposed BCJR equalization model to minimize inter symbol interference when faster than Nyquist signal is transmitted. The presented model utilized interference as branch information and iteratively exchange probabil...

Fast and reliable data transmission together with high bandwidth efficiency are important design aspects in a modern digital communication system. Many different approaches exist but in this thesis bandwidth efficiency is obtained by increasing the data transmission rate with the faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) framework while keeping a fixed power spectral density (PSD). In FTN consecutive informati...

Channel equalization for digital communications was developed by Lucky (1965, 1966), who focused on linear equalizers that were optimized using the peak distortion criterion. The mean-square-error criterion for optimization of the equalizer coefficient...
متن کاملMinimum mean squared error equalization using a priori information
A number of important advances have been made in the area of joint equalization and decoding of data transmitted over intersymbol interference (ISI) channels. Turbo equalization is an iterative approach to this problem, in which a maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) equalizer and a MAP decoder exchange soft information in the form of prior probabilities over the transmitted symbols. A number...
